Re: Dallas LEO shooting video raises question's

Update on the non shooting Liar...and a few other stellar LEO's within the DPD being disciplined and fired. Posted today 21 Nov 2013.

Ofc. Christopher Watson was suspended 15 days for telling an investigator that Bobby Bennett, a mentally ill man whose mother called police when he became enraged, stepped toward him and his partner, Ofc. Cardan Spencer, with a knife “raised in an aggressive manner.”

Re: Dallas LEO shooting video raises question's

Update: (Disclaimer - This could be WFAA Media lies) Those pesky affidavits & video cameras.

A police affidavit detailing the incident says Bennett “took several steps toward them with the knife raised in an aggressive manner.”

Footage from a surveillance camera pointed at the street where officers shot a mentally ill man in the abdomen earlier this week shows the man never walked toward police nor raised a knife to them, disputing a police officer’s narrative provided in a sworn affidavit.

Re: Dallas LEO shooting video raises question's

Never heard of the Tueller findings until this post. It appears I have been under estimating edged weapons completely. I watched some of the videos and its still hard to believe a knife at 21' is a threat against an armed defender but I believe it now. My "paranoid alert bubble" just doubled.

Re: Dallas LEO shooting video raises question's

Since due process has not yet happened and charges have yet to be filed there has obviously been nothing to exonerate. We can parse words all day if you like. Context is important.

These LEO's have zero integrity and are a disgrace to every honest American that ever carried a badge.

The Chief dropped all charges against the victim, as he should have. Now the Chief needs to turn the "armed assaulting officer" into a criminal felon so he can be stripped of the Right to Bear Arms forever.
Way to skip right over the investigation, grand jury, trial, trial jury, judge and jury decisions , skipping right to guilty based on media reports of what was said, someplace third hand or worse and a video tape that only showed part of the encounter and NO audio.

I've not seen anyone here "exonerate the actions" of the officers :headscratch .. I have seen normal thinking Law Abiding Citizens say we need to see and here ALL of the facts to from a reasonable opinion of what happened.

I didn't skip over anything nor did I say anyone was exonerating anything...

Dallas LEO shooting video raises question's

Smile Dallas Police, you're on video...

"Dallas police said the man acted aggressively toward the officers, forcing them to shoot. But the video shows that he had his arms by his side and was yards away when officers started shooting. Bobby Bennett is in an intensive care unit after he was shot in the stomach. His mother, Joyce Jackson, said she got into an argument with her son, which prompted him to storm outside of the home with a small knife.

Jackson said her son has schizophrenia and had not been taking his medication.

She said she called 911 and told dispatchers that her son had mental issues and was carrying a small knife. She feared her son would hurt himself, not anyone else."
