Im also considering that 5.11 shirt with a g27.. I wonder what the time difference is to unholster the g27 from the holster shirt versus something from the ankle. Plus the holster shirts look to be about $75 a pop and for working 50-60 hours im gonna need a few!
I'm a .45 guy, and my normal EDC is a XDm Compact carried OWB. But I do own a scandium .357, and it is my favorite fall-back gun for days when I just don't want the weight of the XDm on my belt. Keep it loaded with Hornady 125 grain Critical Defense .357 magnum ammo. Plenty of punch (1200 fps and 400 ft lb out of a 2" barrel, per Hornady), and still shootable without too much pain. Only 5 rounds in the cylinder, but it should be enough to start a prairie fire and set off all the car alarms for about a mile around. Even if you miss, if the fireball at the muzzle and the sheets of flame shooting out the sides don't scare the bad guy to death, it will scare
you to death, and then the outcome won't really matter, will it?
Love it! I dont currently have a 45acp in the family but would love to pick one up soon..

I've had both the g27 and the g23. My experience has been that the 23 isn't much harder to conceal than the 27. For me the deep concealment issue with both guns is the thickness of the double stack configuration. That is why I went with the XDs for deep concealment. The 23 is my go to gun when I am able to get away with OWB.
I couldnt agree more about the 23.. Xds could be a good option. I have never shot one or held one so I will be checking it out pretty quick

About the pocket holster... Might be ideal but im a restaurant manager and i have too much stuff in pockets throughout the day plus im positive someone will notice a bulge in my pocket with the khaki or black pants I usually wear. I think the only things that would conceal well enough would be ankle or some sort of shoulder/shirt holster under my dress shirt...

I recently got my chl and I carry when im off but for the 50+ hours a week im at work I havent been because my business casual doesnt work well with my crossbreed supertuck.. I have trouble keeping a button up or polo tucked in but covering it. I was looking for some advice on a new set up for "work carry". The smallest gun I own is a g23 and I feel like thats too big for an ankle holster. I have also heard that shoulder holsters are hard to not "print" under dress shirts. I would consider myself a glock guy but would carry something else. Thanks for any suggestions, D
