Re: 6 weeks mailed and still "awaiting receipt..."
Boys and Girls... there is a very simple reason why they all show "waiting receipt. THE LAW. They are required to issue the CHL within 60 days of receiving your completed packet, prints, etc. As long as they haven't "received" if from their mailroom they are in the clear legally to t...

No 30.06 or 51% then commence to carrying (at Whole Foods). Period.
IF they ever posted one, just stop shopping there and go to Central Market...HEB is way cool on CHL.

Re: 6 weeks mailed and still "awaiting receipt..."
I saw on another thread today. they (DPS) are receiving 15,000 to 17,000 new applications a month. I am still wondering where all the additional revenue is going, and why the State cannot hire some people to simple acknowledge reciept of documents. Sure hope the "paustin' guy gets the fact tha...

Re: DPS Losing Documents?
I think with the volume that DPS is handling, that about 60 days isn't bad (seems to be going rate). No one likes waiting, but we all know up front it won't be quick. Nevertheless can try ones patience for sure.

Re: background check online??
If you don't know the county, you can start with https://records.txdps.state.tx.us/DpsWebsite/CriminalHistory/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Caveat: just because it doesn't show up those public records, doesn't mean DPS can't find it somewhere else. It will/can show up on...

Re: Background Check-How Long?
Unfortunately DPS has to wait on FBI. They are just a little busy--but hang in there. :grumble When I talked to a lady with NICS, she said that dps kind of " back doors " the NICS system when they do their BG check. Not sure what the heck that means! :confused5 Hmmmm :headscratch Think th...

No, not that kind of virgin....I did my Wally Walk today. Got my CHL yesterday.
