Also the Blue Knights are the only LEO club I know of.
Actually the Cossacks are a MC but not a 1% club. They are not on any gang or outlaw club list I know of. They were however flirting with the HA's according to some reports, but they have never been accused of using the club to make money illegally.

I don't want to claim that he is wrong or a 1% or anything like that personally. I'm just not going to worry about it because he clearly doesn't want to clear up the issue.

If you want to be believed and accepted here, you'll have to work a bit harder at convincing the members you're being mistreated by LE by being more forthcoming.

If not interested in being accepted here, O.K., but the perception at this point is you are quite possibly a member of an outlaw biker gang and as such few here will provide you much sympathy or support.

If you're not part of an outlaw MC, why not provide enough information to exonerate yourself in the eyes of the members here?
So, what you are saying is that if someone is a member of an outlaw biker gang with no record, It is OK for the police to arrest them for no turn signal, search their bike, take their legal firearm, refuse to return it and have their CHL revoked?

Just asking.
I'm saying that gang members can't carry by law. That members of MC's can in some circumstances be considered gang members. If that is the case here, and we haven't really been told why they cops are trying to have them pull the CHL, then it is a matter of fact to be decided by a court.

I'm interested in your case from a purely non partisan perspective. I have friends who ride in clubs and have no association with known outlaw "clubs".

Thanks.
He has used the "lingo" that people use when trying to give the impression they belong to an "outlaw" club but denies it is such, nor will he just state the name of the club. To me it sure seems like he is either trying to give a certain impression or he is in a club, or tributary club, that could very well meet the definition of a "Gang". Heck he won't even confirm or deny that he wears a 3 patch cut. If he is playing the same game with the cops then no wonder he didn't get his gun back.

EElis,

Get off the gas why don't cha. My patch is a 3 piece patch along with every other law enforcement motorcycle club who wears a 3 piece parch but are not profiled as such so it's obviously you know nothing of the mc culture so I won't debate that with you. I don't need to state the name of my club or the name of my job or my full name on a open forum that's irrelevant. I'm simply speaking on the CHL issue and not engage in a motorcycle club debate that's for a different site.
Yep confirms my belief. Sure there are several LEO and Fire clubs that have 3 piece patches, and more that don't, but it's pretty rare generally speaking and in all but a few cases the non outlaw 3 patch wear the patches together so at a distance it looks like one patch. The cops get to wear them because 1% won't mess with them and they don't really compete with a 1% club. Generally speaking only outlaw, public service, and affiliated MC get to wear a third patch without concern for reprisals. The shooting at Twin Peaks a little while ago was because a MC added a bottom rocker. 7 of their members were killed. So yea it is relevant and also relevant that you wanted to frame your story and just give out the info that you allow us to have and then seem disgruntled when questions get asked about other factors. I get that I'm calling into question your, call it status, but I've stated why and instead of saying you disagree and leaving it alone or fully explaining the situation you have basically attacked . I'm wrong because I know nothing about MC's. Except I obviously do know a bit and you haven't stated anything that I have gotten wrong or where your belief that I know nothing comes from. Heck you may belong to a christian MC because I've know more than a few guys who do, though I've never met any with a full three patch w/ a separate bottom rocker. I'm just saying that your behavior and the way you avoid questions while dropping little bits of info lead me to think there is more to the story.

Bandido, hells angels, mongols, etc. They tend to wear a diamond 1% patch.

I along with a few of my motorcycle club brothers have been harassed here lately. I was pulled over by 4 units who claim I didn't use my turn signal. I handed them my license, CHL and told them my weapon is locked in my saddlebag. They immediately began with the full court press of questions about me and my club affiliation and every patch on my vest. I cooperated and remained very polite still not understanding why I got pulled over. They wanted to search my cycle I said "no sir you can't as I did nothing wrong". All my information that they ran came back clean as I have never been arrested in my 42 years and I told them that. They went back and forth on the computer with their seargent who then told them to arrest me for the traffic citation! That gave them cause to mmediately tear into my saddlebags, broke them in the process and found absolutely nothing. I released my bike to my club brother who drove up in his car and I was then hauled off to jail at 10:00 pm where I sat till 6:30 am. After I finally saw the In-house judge she couldn't believe they arrested me on a turn signal ticket and immediately released me ......again I was never ever charged with anything to this day!

Now the detective is refusing to release my weapon stating he now shows me as a known associate to which I am not. I have hired a local Ft,Worth attorney to file the lawsuit and file a formal detailed complaint with internal affairs against all officers involved. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

I just went back and re-read your post and have the following comments
(1) Just because they arrested you still does not give them probable cause for a search without a warrant.
(2) You said you hired a Ft. Worth attorney but did not say if this was Ft. Worth PD or some of the outlying towns
(3) IMHO, the judge should have instructed them to release your weapon
(4) As many LEO's that came, it was either a very slow night or there was a problem somewhere that could have included a biker
(5) You also didn't say what club, or if it was a 3 piece patch. You asked our opinion and these would help in giving one
(6) As I stated before, I am a lifelong biker, long time CHL holder, and ride with 3 different groups including the PGR when i have time so I know a little about stereotyping which there are some on this board that do as well but it is human nature to be scared of something you know nothing about
Know associate sounds like code for gang member which if it's a one percent club then there is precedent.

Re: Police confiscated my weapon

The OP has said nothing about what kind of group he rides with so who knows. I do think that the fact that he hasn't said what kind of group or what his "Cuts" entail says something. Either the club is one that could be problematic or the OP likes to give a that impression, at least in some small way. Without any more info, which the OP could have given and didn't, I'm going to have to think that if you ride around looking for attention you shouldn't complain if you get it.

n5wd wrote:For those of us who are ignorant about these things: What is a "cut"?

Sounds like you've done the right thing... Letting your lawyer handle it for you. You have a replacement carry weon, I'm hoping? No need to publicly answer that rhetorical question.

See if you watched Soldiers of Anarchy you would know that's the term for a a vest or jacket that your patches are on.It originally referred to a denim jacket with the arms and collar cut off turning it into a vest but now it can be any item with your club patches on it. This phrase would normally only be used by a three patch club and at certain time would cause issues if you weren't a three patch club member and referred to your patch that way in front of a three patcher. The number of patches say's something about your "Club". Three patch clubs are usually limited to MC's though not always a 1% MC. They are unsanctioned by the AMA and generally must be "approved by the 1% club or clubs that are in the area. As a matter of fact just calling yourself a "Club" member can cause issues if you are a one patcher as you are not considered a Clubber if you're with a RC or one patch club. It's seen as putting on airs and playing at being hard. This can be a big deal, the shootings at the Twin Peaks was reportedly touched off because the Cossacks started wearing a third patch. A Texas bottom rocker.

There are some three patch that get no beef here in Texas with the 1% clubs but the third patch would have something other than the state. Like there is an American Legion club that has Veteran on their third patch. That and while they do have three separate patches they put them together so they really appear to be a one patch.
