How about we stop fanning the flames and let it burn out. Should some group attempt to word up a bill against 30.06 all CHLers need contact their state reps en masse and explain where their vote goes in order to bury it. We are being our own worst enemy on this one. We need to stop educating the antis on what the 30.06 provision is and how to use it or they will eventually find it a powerful tool to beat us over the head with.
You know what you make choices. I'm with Charles when I say I follow the law. If they don't care enough to figure out the law and how to comply then I tend to think they don't really care if I carry. Aside from being verbally told they don't want CHL's on property the only way I can be sure is that they do post the 30.06. If I find it to frustrating to visit or work someplace then I don't. That a business owner is stupid or make an irrational choice doesn't keep it from being their choice and I would hope someone on my property would respect the choices I make for that property the same way I do others property. If it bothers so many of the tenants then a mass notice that they would not renew leases would probably change some minds and if that doesn't happen then it isn't that big of an issue. I don't think ignorance is ever a positive thing in the long run and I wont advocate or agree with any attitude that thinks it is. I do think we shoot our selves in the foot as you could say but trying to get over on people is just another way of doing so in my opinion. I've stated my piece tho so I wont belabor the point anymore.

Oh I agree. I don't think it's likely either. My point is that such a movement, even if it fails will serve to raise awareness of the worthlessness of the "gunbuster" signs which would then come down in favor of a valid 30.06 sign and once it reaches a point where those signs are all too common it's gonna hurt.
Personally I'm not looking to get over because someone is ignorant about 30.06. If I know they are serious then I won't go in regardless of the legality because why in the heck should I give them my business? I'd rather know for sure and have them make their intent clear. I can't think of a single business that I don't have other options besides the one location. Not to mention I also have enough respect for private property to follow the owners wishes on their policies. These nutjobs aside this is Texas. Sure there may be a few nutty locals and some out of state owners who post 30.06 but most just won't because they couldn't care less and won't alienate people who are trying to spend money in their business. When CHL was new? Maybe, but now, people just are not concerned since all the hysterical doomsday predictions have all been shown to be false. The whole "Don't tell them or they may put up a sign we have to follow" thing is pretty annoying and I will not be going along with it no matter how many times someone posts it.
