Re: 73 year old Florida woman shot dead in citizens police academy demonstration

I just graduated from our Citizens Police Academy this past May. One training session they used real guns.....there were two guns laying on the table....one revolver with the cylinder open so that you could see it was empty....one a 9MM with the magazine out and the slide back so that you could see ...

Re: Carter Country-Pasadena

Ok, maybe I just misunderstood the sign but that's the reason I asked the guy. I did tell him that after reading the sign I took my gun back to the car and locked it up....he didn't say I misunderstood that it wasn't for concealed carry. He also said Mr. Carter had made that decision after the new l...

Carter Country-Pasadena

Just had an interesting discussion with the manager at Carter Country in Pasadena. Went in and on the front door they were advertising the next Concealed Handgun Class with the dates. Stepped inside the store and to the left of the entry way was another sign stating that any open carry or guns had t...

Re: Is Your Church / Synagogue / Mosque Posting 30.07?

Our pastor met with the deacons a couple of weeks ago and told them that they wouldn't be putting up the ugly 30.06 and 30.07 signs on the door but that he didn't want people open carrying in church. So he gave our police officers, hired to patrol our church, permission to tell anyone open carrying ...

Questions about Suicide-Medical Questionaire

Been going to cardiac rehab for almost a year after my heart attack last February. Yesterday they hand me a form and says I need to fill it out. It had 3 questions asking if I had ever been kicked or beat (not exact words) and the final question was "Have I ever thought about suicide or ever at...

target load vs carry load-If Worse Comes to Worse

I know that most of us try to keep a supply of ammo saved. I normally try to keep around 1,000 rounds....if I shoot a box I buy a box. I was fixing to buy a box of 45's the other day and I had picked up a box of target rounds. Then the thought occurred to me..."most of my ammo is target loads.....

Re: Trip To The Doctor While Carrying

why do you not carry at church? I go to a very large church....no postings at the door....we have paid off duty cops at each entrance plus I know of several members who are cops that attend our services that carry while dressed in street clothes. Knowing our pastor he would NOT like having his cong...

Trip To The Doctor While Carrying

I've slowly worked my way to carrying pretty much all the time other than at work and church. Last week I had to have an MRI and I didn't wear my gun. It's less than 5 minutes from my house. This morning I had to go to my regular doctor for the report on the MRI. Knowing I didn't have to take anothe...

First Trike Trip Carrying

I've had my CHL for two weeks now and took my yearly motorcycle trip this past weekend. I always ride to the hill country for 4 days in April. I packed everything up and hooked up my camper. I was excited because this was the first time I could actually carry all day long. I wore a short sleeve deni...

After church today needed to go to Wally World...yea right....I still had my suit on for church so figured the coat would be a good cover for first time.
