Re: Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick attacks NRA and Supports expanded background checks

I called his office. The phones are busy so I left a short message. I reminded him that defying "the NRA" is defying the people that voted for him and donated to his campaign. He just lost my vote, my donations and my respect. :banghead:

Lesson learned. Never have clear sidelight windows so someone outside your home at night can see that you are armed.

Re: If You Carry a Gun, You Need an Outfit to Match

Several years ago, I was visiting the range when this gangbanger want-to-be-type with full tats and droopy jeans decides he wants to shoot next to me on the same outdoor range. Oh joy! I was silently debating changing ranges when I heard the unmistakable rhythm of full auto suppressed fire. Sure eno...

Re: MN: Self defense shooting trial built on gun control bumper sticker

The other day I was digging around in my big box of bumper stickers, pins, etc. and came across my very first NRA-ILA pin. It was for helping to pass the 1986 McClure-Volkmer Act some thirty plus years ago (ok now I’m feeling a bit old). Rest assured, I have amassed enough pro 2A stickers to vinyl w...

Re: Watch Where You Walk

Black widow spiders, brown recluse spiders, scorpions, rattle snakes, copper heads, cotton mouths, dive bombing blue jays, kleptomaniac racoons, an elusive mountain lion and attack squirrels can all found between me and my mail box, but there is no way I would return to living in the Metroplex. :non...

Re: Post Mortem

Bring 3 new friends each year to the range We started doing this last year. Out of the 8 newbies we took to the range, three purchased their first firearm, one discovered a consuming passion for skeet and sporting clays, two received their license to carry and two joined our range. One Saturday mor...

Re: Amateur Radio vs. HOA

I helped a fellow Ham and HOA captive construct a rather tall backyard jungle gym for his future grand kids. Since the kidos were not currently using it... He stored a few antennas in there. His neighbors even complemented his construction efforts.... since it was "for the kids".

Re: The time OC may have deterred crime

I stopped for gas in Dallas late one night and had a “panhandler” magically appear from behind a gas pump maybe 4 feet away. I had just picked up the gas nozzle when he started his “hey man…blah blah blah” I said no… but he kept getting closer and closer so I shifted the nozzle to my left hand and p...
