GWs have the broadest jusisdiction and the most open access to land (public and private). They are also charged with enforcement of more than just hunting and game laws.

I have been checked by game wardens on many occasions (hazards of hunting public lands and club leases). If I am carrying a pistol in addition to my shotgun, I make the game warden aware of that. I have never had one ask me for my CHL or ask me to do anything with my pistol. They usually ask me to unload my shotgun and hand it to them and then ask for 3 shells so they can test the plug. I've also had them ask for my ID and hunting license and also to see my birds.

As far as I am concerned, If approached by a Game Warden, I am going to let him know that I am carrying. I don't want to surprise those guys. Their jobs are hard enough as it is.
