P.S. you photo is upside down.
Hmmm...

Doesn't look upside down in my viewer...

Shirt is red, shorts are green, shower is behind me with the head pointing down...

Haven't tried standing on my head yet but may not be a bad test for any IWB holster. Most tell you not to hold the holster upside down as a test for tension as the waist band and belt help to add holding tension. I wonder if I could still do it...???

Thanks for the heads up on the photo but I don't know what I would do to fix it...
When you click on the image, it displays correctly....on my laptop.....but the preview thumbnail image is upside down.

I'd be curious about your experience. I've avoided holsters which keep the magazines on the same side as the gun because it seems like a tactical error. What does it do to your reloading time, if you have to switch hands with the gun so as to access a strong side magazine, dump the old one with your off hand, slap the new one home with your strong hand, then switch the gun back to your strong hand to resume shooting? The fastest way out of that mess is to become an ambidextrous shooter, and that can be a daunting training issue. So I've always felt that while holsters designed like that provide a measure of convenience, the convenience is outweighed by the handicap they impose. In that case, you might as well not carry a spare mag.

I would actually love it if my observations were wrong. Please post some follow up and let us know how it has worked out for you.
TAM - I monkeyed around with configuration last night (but didn't shoot). My plan right now is to use my weak side hand to retrieve spare mags. It will require me to reach across my front side for the one in front of the pistol (it ends up at the 2:30 position) and to reach across behind me to get the one behind the pistol (it ends up about the 4:30 or 5 position). I'll have to practice that at the range to see how feasible it really is but it may work. All that said, I got the mag holders put on because I could. If they don't work out I will carry my mags a different way (probably cargo pocket as this holster will become my "shorts and Hawaiian shirt" holster. If I am in jeans, I will still use my CompTac MTAC and CompTac spare mag holder.

I'll keep you posted on field tests...
Wore this holster quite a bit this weekend. Here's what I found out...

- The front spare mag holder is not well suited if you will be sitting down much (driving, riding motorcycle, sitting in church, etc.). It causes the mag to really dig into your leg and belly area.

- If you wear the holster in a 3:30 or 4 position, the rear spare mag holder is fairly accessible with your weak side hand reaching behind your back. It's not much farther over than a small of the back placement for a mag holder. You have to put the mag in with bullets facing backward of course but it's not bad.

- The holster is dang comfortable and holds position well. I wore some shorts this weekend with no belt and actually forgot I had the thing on a few times.

- You can't adjust cant but the ride height is almost infinitely adjustable (even below the waistline for full concealment if you need it.

All in all, I think it's a keeper. Like I said, I still have other configurations for holsters and mag carriers that may be superior from a tactical standpoint but as summer approaches here in Houston, I am excited to have this option.

You're welcome.

I hope your experience turns out to be a good one.

Sorry about that...

It's right side up on my iPad. Maybe the ghost of Steve Jobs is fouling it up on purpose...

:headscratch

I don't think I'm smart enough to turn it over...

TactiPac Holster Arrived

Look what showed up yesterday evening...

Overall it seems to be well built (I'll post another review after I wear it for a while). The integral spare mag holders are a nice add but having them located where they are will take some practice.

It feels very comfortable on and seems like it will work well for cases where I can't (or don't want to) wear a gun belt and traditional IWB holster. You can't adjust the cant but you do have some adjustment on ride height based on where you wear the belt.

Long story short, if you can deal with the wait (about 12 weeks plus now vs. 8 weeks promised when ordered), the fact that the manufacturer charges your card on the day you place the order, and little to no effective communication with the manufacturer, it's probably worth doing. I am satisfied with what I got for the money and satisfied with the end product compared to what was promised.

I'll wear it a while and let you know how it holds up to a summer in South Texas.
