Re: AK47 style underfold advice Romanian vs. Yugoslavian

lawrnk,
Time flies when your havin fun. I bought it in May 2006, not last year, for $449.95. Tomball Pawn and Champion Firearms in College Station have consistantly good prices. You might find something $20-$40 cheaper at a gun show. BUT, factor in the parking fee, entry fee and the time it takes to go to a show. Also if you buy one by mail you will get whatever they send you! If you buy it local, you can look it over. Check for canted front sight, canted gas block, bad trigger, etc. I wouldn't wait too long to pick one up.

Re: AK47 style underfold advice Romanian vs. Yugoslavian

I bought a 'Yugo' last year at Tomball Pawn. The folding stock is loose when it's extended. The 'Yugo' hand guards are different than other AKs. The aftermarket hand guards won't fit. It shoots great. I replaced the trigger. The one it came with had a heavy pull.
I bought the 'Yugo' because of the price and the new, made in USA barrel. Even though the barrels are not chrome lined, I like the idea of NEW vs USED.
I don't know anything about the 'Rommies'

With an 'under folder' it won't work with 40 rd mags or a drum mag. 'Side folders' and TAPCO telescoping stocks will.
