edit/posted this above. On another board, some members focused on my post that I was focusing on carrying a reload . . . not my point.
Here is what I edited above.
edit: My intent/post wasn't clear. I am not stating a reload in any of these circumstances would have changed anything. Most of these encounters seem to be between unarmed persons, both sides.
That was not the point of me posting this, my point was Violence IS this & MAJORITY of the time MORE EXTREME. So many times I have read/heard, In this situation I would do this/that. . . . . Having a plan is nice, "can't over prepare", Training is Great as well, but I am focusing on being "REAL", Train outside of your comfort zone, PUSH yourself to be better/stronger/sharper not only physically but MENTALLY.
Reasons to always Carry.
I hear A LOT of people "making" situations & sometimes giving themselves the upper hand in said situations.
We "good guys" do not get to pick when/where/who "bad guys" we could have to defend ourselves against.
So, I am saying. If you can carry: Carry . . . . imho: If you do: Carry a reload. . .
Personally I carry the above as well as edged tools & above all do my best to not get complacent in my daily travels.
What ever you carry, seek training, & maintain at the minimum those skill sets. Anything involving fine motor skills diminishes over time without repetition.
Mindset, Training, being Prepared makes all the difference.
