This is one of the main problems with all of the restrictive laws; it does not address the real issue which is what happens when criminals get their hands on guns. Paula Dean is being treated worse than a lot of bad guys who commit crimes with guns. But that is making the assumption that Legislators are interested in preventing crime; they aren't. They are interested in controlling people and the only way that they can have complete control is if there is no way for people to fight back.
