Glad I'm not the only one with these experiences!

Re: reds indoor range in austin

I'm known for BBQ. Many think my BBQ is pretty good (I'm more critical of mine than anyone else is). So I've talked to 2 other people since I replied to this and feel I should add the other thing that annoyed me about Reds. I was pretty upset but didn't react or say anything. (friends say they would have reacted). As I said, we had 3 people on one lane. As one shot, the other 2 were behind the line waiting (reloading off to the side). My mother wanted to shoot my P290 to see how it was compared to her LCP. I had the extended mag in it and shot a few rounds. I set it down loaded and walked to my mother (about 10 feet and within sight). She was getting ready to walk up to shoot it and the range guy walks up to my lane, picked up my gun and cleared it, then tells me that I can't leave a gun loaded unattended. I felt I was close enough to it and that was unwarranted. Inside, I was pretty irritated the guy picked up my gun, my friends stated that would have put them over the top pretty much (I know a lot of people are more talk than anything else, I just try to stay level headed). How would you feel in that situation? Were my actions that reckless?
Thanks,
Brian

Re: reds indoor range in austin

Yes, I did not get there before He was ousted. :/ He's had a pretty troubled time with things though it seems. I will say though the brisket was some of the best I've had. I usually order lean brisket to avoid all the gristle and crap. The trade off often times is moisture. It tends to be a little dryer. This brisket was awesome. Ribs were pretty good too (Not a fan of spare ribs but they were pretty good for spares).

Re: reds indoor range in austin

I'm in Killeen. We're going to Stan's this weekend I think. Been to Texas Star. Heard about the one in Lockhart. That won't be a bad trip and work in some Black's BBQ. One good thing out of yesterday was I finally got to take another BBQ place off my list of places to go. Went to LA BBQ down on 1st. It was pretty darn good.

Re: reds indoor range in austin

Oh, I was pretty excited to find some sig magazines I have been unable to find anywhere else. No prices but wanted them. Came out to 104. Probably a little higher than other places but I guess it's a convenience thing.

Re: reds indoor range in austin

I joined the site for this thread. I took my GF and mother to Red's North yesterday. We got there about 930 and were the 6th person waiting for a lane. They were so busy that we just got one lane (pretty annoying but I understand). None of us really cared for it. I liked the fact that you could control your target but not the overall experience. We ultimately left when the guys to our left pulled out a hand cannon that shook the ceiling tiles and booths every time it fired. Not sure what it was (revolver). My mother ended up going outside at that point. I finished the rounds we had loaded and left. Felt the price should have reflected that we only had the 1 lane to shoot for that hour but we went and now we know. Also, wasn't a problem for me but the GF and mother both were not able to reach the targets to swap out. We've all only just started shooting and enjoy it overall. Probably will not be going back there. It's pretty far for us and didn't overly impress us.
