I'm currently attempting to retool without loosing my shirt and am not sure where I will land. I've applied at the Dallas Police Department but also am considering working toward a tech position, possibly in medical x-ray. I've not totally ruled out continuing in personal lines insurance claims but the big companies are not what I went to work for in 1988, but what is.
after working in law enforcement full-time for 10 years, i left to work for an insurance company. the difference is night and day. i love the company and people i work for (something that can't be said for police work). i've only been out of full-time law enforcement about 8 months now, but i'm still a deputy sheriff (i couldn't give it up entirely, i love the work), and teach at the academy. i took the adjuster job for the SIU position that's coming open soon. by the way, we have an adjuster position and an appraiser position open. it's a small office, but a big company.
