As a veteran, I really wouldn't be bothered in the tiniest little bit if that man gets the death penalty. OTOH, I understand exactly what you are saying. I once read an article written by an Air Force Chief Master Sergeant who escorted a convicted airman to the prison at Fort Leavenworth. By his description, it sounded like no place I ever want to see up close and personal, much less be in for the rest of my days. It would be galling to think this murderous criminal gets to live while so many good folks are gone before their natural end, but at least I know he wouldn't be enjoying his remaining time on this earth.n5wd wrote:Not going to happen. He did not plead insanity - he wanted to plead guilty but in a capital case, the UCMJ prohibits a guilty plea. He'll go to the US Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, and if he does face the executioner, he'll be transferred to the federal prison in Terra Haute, Indiana, for the execution.alvins wrote:...
Knowing our legal system they will just put him in a physco hopital for the rest of his life and we get to pay for it.
Personally, I hope he gets life (without a chance of parole because he's been convicted of capital murder) so that he doesn't get to become a martyr right away) and when he finally dies of old age, he'll forget about the 72 virgins waiting for him.
