As much I've been liking what he's had to say recently, he voted for Chuck Hagel today. Him and three other Republicans I've never heard of. They could have filibustered his nomination into oblivion, but NO!

I keep wondering about stuff like this. I can't tell if they just don't care, which doesn't seem like Rand Paul in general, or if there is something else going on. Maybe BHO wanted ol' Chuck to be blocked and then he could put up the person he really wanted in there. I certainly don't trust the man on anything. Maybe folks like Rand Paul went with the devil they knew, so to speak.

The way I understand a true libertarian society is that you pretty much need a strong bit of intestinal fortitude to live in such a society. Because in such a society, you do not rescue people from their problems, and if that includes their kids not doing so well, that is that. It is a bit of dog-eat-dog. I'm not advocating for that exact model in any form or fashion, just stating what I have gathered reading things about libertarianism, including things by libertarians themselves. Which is why I still consider myself a conservative with a strong nod to libertarianism.

IF we had a government with some backbone, we could get STARTED on cleaning up this mess by way of shutting off handouts to those who do not deserve things handed to them, and by TRUE means testing those who seem to have problems and may actually need assistance. Not everyone's kid needs an iPad or a giant flatscreen TV to play their X-Box99 on and its not torture or cruelty to not hand them the money to do so. But, that would involve cutting through the political correctness that has infested our nation, and finally offering some plain talk. And I don't see that happening any time soon.

No human being EVER lives up to what all they say they will do 100%, and expecting them to is asking for trouble. Its why we have contracts, on paper, or its electronic equivalents. Why don't people ever hold any Democrat politicians to what they say? They promise utopia...I ain't seen it yet. Why is that okay?

Though there are some good points and ideas there, I disagree that the situation is unable to be improved or changed. The current administration and the liberal-progressive power brokers are setting themselves up for a fall. Times change, generations change, thought patterns change...and no matter how "good" the current admin and their ideological ilk are, they can't keep a lid on everything forever. Something WILL give at some point...and I predict that it will NOT be very pretty. They think they are going to get a perfect liberal-progressive "utopia" with the upper crust elites smoothly running the ill-educated rabble but it ain't that easy. History teaches that when you tear a nation down, the aftermath is ugly business, indeed.
