Re: Need a "Sound Judgment Evaluation": Psychiatrist Needed!
Another update. I had the psychologist evaluation about a week and a half ago. It was fairly painless, but they weren't kidding when they said it would take 5 hours. In fact, I almost went over that time. The report was put in the mail last Tuesday afternoon. Wish me luck. Keeping fingers crossed f...

Howdy! I'm a newbie too...got my plastic on Friday after 95 days mailbox to mailbox :anamatedbanana I really like this forum also. People have seemed nice and very responsive on some questions/comments I have had. It feels like a "safe" place where I won't have to be embarrassed if I ask a...

Re: Church/work carry
The concept that you are not at work, is a huge gray area, and how you handle this depends on how much you need your job. No one can give you legal advice. This must be your own decision because you can be hurt by this. There are no legal issues when you have to abide by how a church board will dec...

Re: Church/work carry
Lots of advise here. To me this is a simple matter of Christian integrity and honor. You are aware and informed that your employer requires that you do not carry your gun at work. Even if the state of Texas allowed you to YOU KNOW that your employer requires that you dont. If we check the OTHER emp...

Re: How long did it take to get CHL, mailing packet to plast
95 days, packet to plastic. I had a "reported history" issue I had to take care of, which I am sure slowed things down. I received the letter from the Medical Advisory Board over Memorial Day weekend, took it to my doctor the next week, he filled it out and mailed it in and 2 1/2 weeks lat...

If I can talk the hubster into it, it might be an Outback Outing. I think this deserves a dinner out!TexasCajun wrote:Congrats! Now all you've got to do is take your Wally-Walk or Target-Trot or TraderJoes-Jam or whatever right of passage first outing you prefer.

It's here! 95 days, mailbox to mailbox, which I don't think is so bad considering I had some extra paper work to send in. ![woohoo :woohoo](./images/smilies/woohoo.gif)

Re: Church/work carry
With a CHL does not fall under the heading of illegal either. You need to ask them to change the wording. Since it says firearm OR illegal weapon, I am going to say they probably weren't even considering someone with a CHL and made a blanket ban on all. I'll just be waiting to see if I can figure o...

Re: Church/work carry
I know of at least one person that carries at our church. I know of at least 4, my husband and his best friend being 2 of those. No one else really knows or cares, as far as I can tell. We have laughed about it in staff meeting, just semi joking that it is probably good to have at least one armed p...

Re: Church/work carry
Is the wording in the reg 30.06 text? Doesn't really matter. If it is, then it's a crime for him to carry & he can be fired if he does. If its not, he can still be fired. But that's only for carrying at work . The OP stated that he doesn't work on Sunday, so when he's at church on Sunday, he's ...
