I've tried calling the VA Affairs office and I can't get through. I've left a few message without a return call. The spring semester is starting soon, so I'm sure they will be swamped for a while. I will post my findings once I hear from the VA Affair office.
It would be a blessing if the Hazelwood Act covers the classes. They have CHL, Safety, Intermediate Defense (12 hrs) and Advance Defense (16 hrs) classes.

Re: Texas Hazelwood Act for Classes
College of the Mainland is the college I was referring to. The school is a formula funded school. However, I'm not sure if all classes are covered by the Hazelwood Act. I will call and find out tomorrow and post my findings.JJVP wrote:Not sure to which college the OP was referring, but College of the Mainland in Texas City offers them. I took the intermediate defensive handgun class there a year ago.superchief wrote:wow. what school is providing these courses?

How was the class you took a year ago? I see they also have an advance course as well.

Texas Hazelwood Act for Classes
A local community college in my area offers intermediate and advance defensive handgun courses. Does anyone know if the Hazelwood Act covers the cost for this type of training to Texas Veterans?
