#rotor and #bio: we all had mailed notification this week and so anxiously I awaited the mail today which comes late. After both of you received yours today I was obviously hopeful. So, I holstered my weapon, called the dog, and we did the mailbox walk.
Niiiice! Kinda like getting a new truck... almost.
Now I can carry outside my vehicle and it feels right.
Going out to dinner for my wife's birthday tonight but won't be carrying as we will be consuming adult beverages.
I do however, need to go to Wally World tomorrow for a new handheld vacuum.

*****An observation for all that are still watching for updates after mailing docs or while background check is under review: based on my experience it looks like they update those first two categories in batch mode once weekly on the weekend. And then once background check is finished they update nightly real time and things progress prett quickly from there. *****

Wow that was quick in comparison to most others including me.
Maybe they are trying to get caught up with all of the existing and expected new applications coming in.

When checking status this morning I received a web page that says "This Texas.gov service is temporarily down for maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please check back soon."

Expecting review to take as long or longer.
CHL class trainer said at the time (Nov 30) that the average was up to 8-10 weeks at that point for clean applications.
TX DPS will probably process well over 200,000 applications in 2012. (180k last year)
My bet is that will increase to 250k+ for 2013.
Which makes me feel good that the trained population is catching up on the bad guys!
