1. I don't see where rkjohn said what kind of birth certificate he had.
2. Texas DPS "Notice of Applicant Born Out of Country"
I hope this helps somebody who is more interested in facts than arguing gratia arguing.

Re: Born out of Country Requirements
proactive? Pay My Country $600 for papers? Yeah I'll pay it. Good luck to you when you need them. It's coming for all of us. A United States Passport Card is $30 for ten years and there's a $25 application fee if you never had a passport before. If you want to pay $600 for the other papers, you can...

Re: Born out of Country Requirements
I was 5 months old when we came into the country. They told my parents (the Air Force) that no papers were needed for me. I guess maybe I should go into Mexico and cross back by the light of the moon. Then I get a pardon, citizenship, medical care, drivers license, etc etc. Silly me for paying taxe...

Re: Conceal Carry Holder Arrested for Incidental Exposure
This is very sound, reasonable and rational. The trouble is, it is not universal, and you never know when you are going to be confronted by irrationality. If we could count on cops "doing the right thing" it would be easy. You said a mouthfull Brother. It's unfortunate when citizens have ...

Re: Born out of Country Requirements
the list of approved documents just says birth certificate, doesn't specify where it has to be from, I think someone at DPS is making arbitrary and capricious decisions. now who do we need to e mail into oblivion to get this bull fixed? Fix what? A birth certificate from somewhere overseas doesn't ...

Re: The (Not So) Great Ammo Shortage of 2013
I understand the reasons for the demand side, but not the supply side of the equation. It seems weird that the supply side hasn't even begun to catch up. When you consider that supplies haven't been normal for probably 4-5 years (though better at some times than others) I would think established co...

Re: UPDATE: 1/20/13
After this Legislative Session, you will no longer be able to carry under a "Out of State" license if you are a Texas Resident. Get used to it! Texas needs money too! That's a cute story but it makes no sense. If they want more money why are they giving discounts to some nonresidents? No ...

Re: UPDATE: 1/20/13
I never understood why someone who owns property in Texas and pays property taxes here should pay more for a Texas CHL than somebody in California who served a few years in the national guard 20 years ago. It's no suprise more and more Texas residents are opting to get a nonresident license from a m...

They're both wrong. I won't reveal details but trust me when I say Saint Nick takes appropriate countermeasures.
