It was found - and is in the museum just east of the Junior High School between St Lawrence and St Louis St. I believe it fires a 4" diameter projectile, not too impressive compared to Civil War artillery - unless it was looking at you

I second the idea of visiting the old jail (now the visitor center / Chamber of Commerce) and the next door courthouse which has recently been entirely renovated.
