So the hard-lefist, drunk driving, cross-dressing, spoiled rich-kid burglar couldn't cut it, eh? I can't imagine why!
Can't believe this clown even came close to unseating Cruz.

Re: Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?
Robert Frances needs to know in no uncertain terms that citizens are not going to just surrender their 2A rights. Lord knows we've already surrendered too many of them.

But...but...but...but it happened so long ago!The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 2:00 pm Well here’s something interesting!
https://www.dailywire.com/news/44723/re ... n-saavedraIn a profile that also documented O'Rourke's involvement in a hacker group, Reuters reported: "it’s unclear whether the United States is ready for a presidential contender who, as a teenager, stole long-distance phone service for his dial-up modem, wrote a murder fantasy in which the narrator drives over children on the street, and mused about a society without money."

Re: Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?
This is going about as well as the GOP could have expected. Obama fared much, much worse in 2012. Also, looks like a pickup of four is likely in the Senate (sorry to see that John James couldn't hold momentum in Michigan, those racists!)
Also, their lead in the House, assuming they do in fact take it, is hardly commanding and probably just enough to hang themselves with.

Understood. No worries!Flightmare wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 5:07 pmI agree with you 100%. I falsely assumed that he had just started using the nickname for this race, and proved myself wrong. That is all I was pointing out.Redneck_Buddha wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 5:01 pmThere are so many other more valid reasons to not vote for the guy than his Hispanic sounding nickname.Flightmare wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 4:35 pm Part of me was curious, so I went and checked the Texas Secretary of State website. When he initially ran in 2012 for CD16, he was listed as Beto then too.

While I would LOVE to ding him for changing just for this race, it DOES appear he's used it (at least in his campaign) for at least the last 6 years. I didn't bother going back to see what he was listed as when he ran in the municipal races in El Paso.

Re: Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?
The Daily Caller is reporting that the FEC has flagged a huge number of impermissible foreign donations to O'Rourke. Not quite sure who their source is.

Re: Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?
I have a hard time believing that the behavior of the left since the election (and of course way before) won't galvanize conservative voters to turn out in mass numbers.

Re: Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?
How can one look at how the left has been conducting itself since the 2016 election and not be fired up? I know I am. Pete is either misreading the sentiment or trying to gin up extra funds because me and everyone I know is bent on stretching out the lead in the U.S. legislature.Bitter Clinger wrote: ↑Tue Sep 18, 2018 3:45 pmWent to Pete Sessions event last night. He says Dems are angry, fired up and motivated to turn out and vote. Republicans do not seem to be exhibiting that same fervor. Not good.flechero wrote: ↑Tue Sep 18, 2018 3:07 pmWhile good news... it scares me a bit that it's only 9 pts. That's within the margin of a big dem turnout, which usually doesn't happen here (according to several articles I read recently) but could if other forces fire them up. I'd like to see a 25-30 pt spread, then I'd be comfortable!
I'm not sure that the Dems "Blue Wave" will turn out to be a bona-fide phenomenon the way they've embraced the extremes. Seems like a lot of bluster propagated by a very loud minority of voters.
