I could see a problem if they were using steel cased and maybe aluminum cased ammo but I don't buy the "cheap" ammo excuse. Government agencies should buy cheaper than you and I pay. Sig may have a problem with these guns but the excuse that it is cheap ammo doesn't fly to me. I personally have never bought a brand of ammo that didn't work but I have had firearms that went back to the manufacturer.remington79 wrote:NJSP are having an issue too but it looks like it might be their cheap range ammo. https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2017/ ... ing-p229s/

Re: Sig...did I limp wrist it?
Nothing wrong with your gun looking at those pix. Bad ammo.

Re: Sig...did I limp wrist it?
DA/SA pistol. In other words hammer can be reset by a trigger pull although usually a heavier pull than the single action mode.C-dub wrote:I must be missing something here. After a SECOND pull of the trigger the round fired? On all of my semi-autos when I pull the trigger a second time nothing happens unless I have cycled the slide again. However, in order to attempt to fire same round again I must have first dropped the mag, then caught that round when cycling the slide, and reload it back into the top of the mag before reinserting it back into the gun for reloading back into the chamber.
Now, if this is really how it worked then I would agree that it was something with either the primer or the firing pin. If all of that didn't happen and the OP simply pulled the trigger again and then it fired, well, I'd say there was something else going on.

Re: Sig...did I limp wrist it?
From your description of having good primer strikes I would conclude you have gotten some bad ammo. This kind of stuff just happens.I bet if you email the manufacturer they will replace it, if it's even worth your time.

Re: Sig...did I limp wrist it?
You need to look at the primer strike to see if it is a good strike. I am betting that it is the ammo. All is academic until you check the quality of the primer strike. I don't see how limp wristing could cause this as the gun isn't going to fire unless in battery.
