Re: HB 910 Conference Committee
Thanks to Charles, NRA, and TSRA for all their work. It has been a wild ride. Come on Campus Carry. With this finished, maybe we can concentrate on the important bills (removing places we can't carry) next session. Thanks to all on this forum, as we were able to take the ride together. We were up-to...

Re: I am liking HB910 / SB346
I was just looking at the bills assigned to Homeland and HB910 is not there. Phillips and Riddle are shown as authors of HB415 which is an opposed bill. Can anyone explain what might be going on? Thanks. Sorry, I think I figured it out. Nothing is assigned that far down the list. Should just keep re...

Re: Effective Notice question
My thoughts are that, if they put up a sign or notify by card and the wording is wrong, they intend to keep out unlicensed carry and are ok with licensed carry. A local hospital had a 29ee sign up for the longest. Then I went and they had new signs up in English and Spanish, but did not mention any ...

Re: MWAG report in Kingwood at Movie Theater
Did anyone read the New Yorker oped on Taking cover in Texas. I do not know how to add a link, so you can search for new yorker take cover and should find it. It was published May 15, yesterday. It happened at the new Bush Library on the 11th. Quite a read. Only an idiot would mistake a toy gun with...

Re: Update: Support HB972 - debate tomorrow (5/14)
Called Sen. Birdwell's office and the nice lady informed me he had sponsored a SB with similar language and was very supportive of 972. He was working to see it came up on the floor and was voted in.

Being aggressive sounds like a diseased animal. Maybe rabid. That would mean you and your dogs are in danger as well as anyone else nearby.

Re: Finding teachers CHL's
Since (I believe) 2008 all teachers are required to be finger printed. Regardless, if you haven't been finger printed then you would need to be. If the same company used by DPS has your finger prints on file and used the same procedures to obtain them then what could be the objection? Thanks jmra, ...

Re: Finding teachers CHL's
I'm not sure about this train of thought. I got my DL in 1952 and was not fingerprinted and have not been since by DPS. Not until I got my CHL. I taught school for 28 years and never was fingerprinted then. So where does DPS and TEA get these fingerprints?

Re: On being disarmed?
Well, no LEO is going to let you get near your firearm. They will ask where it is and then they will disarm you by reaching in and taking the firearm. I can't see anyone of them letting you put your hands anywhere but the steering wheel. Them reaching in brings up many other issues in my opinion. Fr...
