I think he meant the "transplants". My wife's family immigrated (legally) in 2004. They gave up all they had to come here and build a better life. Her Dad, already a graduate, went through school again to get his teaching certification and teaches high school now. Her mother went back to school and got a Masters, and works as an accountant. All of my wife's siblings have since graduated high school, and 2 have completed college degrees--and are both employed. My wife served her country in the military for 5 years, and is now a student working on her PharmD...
They all vote republican. They all see what a travesty the Democratic Party is. My point is this: lumping immigrants into a big group of ignorant people is uncalled for, and incorrect in many cases. Broad, sweeping generalizations are offensive, rude, and in this case, false. Please respect that.
