I usually ditch my pants and belt once I'm home for good so the carry gun goes away. I've got a shoulder holster that I use for carrying around the house.
The Bruce Willis look keeps the solicitors away.

Re: Reasons to get a 1911 and which one?
I bought a Rock Island Armory 1911A1 GI model just because I wanted the classic 1911 style and it has quickly become one of my favorite firearms. It was relatively inexpensive, it's incredibly accurate and it looks darn good in my tanker holster out on the ranch. It's a behemoth to carry but it's re...

Re: Walmart has fallen!
I largely stopped buying ammo from them when they raised the purchase age to 21 but it is still a bummer. They were convenient for range ammo in a pinch and without their purchasing power I won't be surprised if ammo prices rise.

Re: Weapon storage near Glacier national park
A few steps off of a trail, a zip lock, a handfull of leaves, and a perfect memory. Done and done. :iagree: This was going to be the plan but it turns out she has a relative near the border that I can leave it with. I did call the RCMP and there is no way to bring a handgun into Canada unless you'r...

Re: Weapon storage near Glacier national park
Regarding Canada and firearms: Restricted firearms are primarily handguns. While they are not firearms, pepper spray, mace, and some knives also are included in this category. A restricted firearm may be brought into Canada, but an Authorization to Transport permit must be obtained in advance from ...

Re: Weapon storage near Glacier national park
If I were in the same situation, I think I would call a local Sheriff's Office and ask to speak with the Sheriff himself/herself. I would explain the situation, emphasizing that I am LTC in Texas, and ask if I could store my weapon in the SO armory for however long I would be in Canada. I would off...

Re: Weapon storage near Glacier national park
I thought it was legal to carry firearms in a National Parks if you are properly licensed. Since about 2010. It is and I would like to carry there but I can't go into Canada with a handgun. Apparently Mounties frown upon that. Basically if we're that far north for the park then we'd like to go into...

Weapon storage near Glacier national park
My girlfriend and I are planning a nice trip through Montana in the next few months and Glacier National Park is at the top of our list. We also want to pop across the border for a day or two which brings me to my question. Has anyone traveled up there, thought about crossing the border and found a ...

Re: Forbus 1911 Holster
I had nothing but problems with my Fobus Glock 26 paddle holster and ended up ditching it. I needed Hulk like strength to get my gun out of the holster even though there was only passive retention. Fobus said it needed a firm, straight draw which was true depending on their definition of "firm&...

Palmer Events Center - Austin
Hey all, I'm taking the AFD civil service test and it's being held at the Palmer Events Center which is a City of Austin owned building that seems to frequently post 30.06/07 signs. Is it possible for the city to enforce these signs for a city test if they're even posted for this event? San Antonio ...

Re: HB 3016 - Holstered Car Carry for LTCs
If I'm not mistaken, this is amending the section that makes it illegal for someone without an LTC to openly carry a firearm in their car. Currently the MPA only allows for concealed carry in a vehicle for those without a license to carry. Incorrect. This amends Texas Penal Code 46.035 (a) which is...
