Please pray for the families....
Please pray for the families and parents of the children and teachers killed in this mornings elementary school shooting in Connecticut. This truly grieves me as I am a father of 3 with two in elementary school right now. I can't imagine the pain those parents are enduring right now.

Re: Rules for wally world first time out with CHL
So I didn't follow the rules exactly, but I did go to Wally World on Black Friday and was there for about 3 hours. Does that count?

Re: Concealed carry at gun shows?
Ironically, I was actually referring to the gun show at the Allen convention center. I didn't realize there were so many people in my area. I don't recall a 30.06 sign last time I went, however the last time I went I didn't have my CHL so I wasn't looking.

Re: Carry in Church
I carried in church today. It was a little awkward hugging people, but I avoided any accidental issues.

Concealed carry at gun shows?
The last time I went to a gun show, they had self made signs up saying "No loaded weapons", but I never saw a 30.06 sign. There were police everywhere. Because its a gun show and there is a police present, would I be prohibited from carrying there?

Re: Carry in Church
Can someone please give me a definitive answer regarding this issue? My church has a school associated with it, but the sanctuary actually belongs to the church not the school. Would I be legal as long as I didn't go on the school grounds which is completely separate?

It's about time!!!
Well after about 2 months, I finally got my CHL in the mail yesterday. I carried for the first time today. Went to Costco, Frys, T-Mobile, and IHOP. No problems. I didn't even feel that weird and actually forgot about the fact that I was carrying for a little while. I'm carrying my Ruger SR9c in an ...

Re: Carry in Church
Thanks for that, however, I think that the school is an entirely separate organization and I would have to get separate permission to carry there.

Re: Carry in Church
I hadn't thought about the fact that there is a school attached to the church. Although school is not in session at that time. I would love to get a solid answer from an instructor. My church has a separate building for the school, however the school does use the sanctuary and fellowship hall during...

Re: DPS Processing Times
Submitted online application on 9/14/2012 and still waiting. DPS site shows they received all my paperwork, but are still "reviewing" I'm getting so impatient.

Re: Carry in Church
So you are referring to this?
(i) Subsections (b)(4), (b)(5), (b)(6), and (c) do not apply if the actor
was not given effective notice under Section 30.06.

Carry in Church
When I took my CHL class, my instructor told me that unless the church has posted the 30.06 sign on the building or in the bulletin it is legal to carry in a church, however when I read the statutes, it says that a person commits an offense if they carry in church. Can you guys clarify for me?
