Items won't sell at twice their value, they will sell at what the market will bear, aka market value.
If you like the price you can buy. If you don't like the price you don't have to buy. You have the choice to say no and so does the seller. There's no ObamaGuns law forcing you to pay a fine, I mean tax, if you don't buy enough guns and ammunition each year.
