Yes, I received a letter from DPS about 6 months before my CHL expired to remind me. I did the renewal online and got the new license 2 weeks after that.

I carry the PT145 Pro 3rd gen which is very similar to the PT140 G2 with 1 in the chamber and safety ON.

I received a letter from Texas DPS 6 months before my CHL expired to remind me I would need to renew my CHL. I went to the Texas DPS/CHL website, filled out the application and paid the fees then received the new CHL in under 2 weeks. I did not need to take any class or shoot a single round.

I renewed mine last year and I didn't need to shoot. I filled out the renewal application on line and paid the $72 renewal + processing fees with my credit card then I received the new plastic in 2 weeks.

I paid $72 in 8/2014: $70 renewal fee and $2 processing fee.

Why.....didn't you just apply earlier. If you had applied earlier you would not have all this tention now. How early can you renew? I'm good for now, but just wondering? I renewed my CHL online on 7/30 and received the new license on 8/15. I was charged $72 Texas.gov price ($70 renewal fee + $2 online processing fee).
