That is what the article said, but it was so full of bad information that I wasnt going to rely on it being true.

Ill wager the DA probably knew from the get go he couldnt make the rap stick so took his time and let the billable hours rack up for Sampson.

I stopped by and the clerk told me that the next hearing is on January 28 at 0900. It looks like there has been several hearings in the past couple of months related to discovery and reduction of bond.

I wonder what happened at the hearing two weeks ago. I think I may have to wander up to the courthouse with a foia request.

I did a quick search of the Bell Co. docket and could not find any reference to this case. Either he plead out or the case got rescheduled. There has been no mention of the case in the local newspapers either.

Keep in mind folks that District Attorney is an elected position. If you dont like the way a certain elected official comports himself, then by all means express your displeasure at the ballot box.

For those of you not registered to vote in Bell county, perhaps a contribution to the opponent of said official might be in order.

He didnt see anyting apparently, because he wasnt arrested for being intoxicated. That particular charge was added several weeks later.

Short version is that a soldier brought a concealed handgun to a Killeen hospitial that was not posted as per 30.06. He got arrested anyway. The trial is scheduled for Dec 3.
