LOL. I just have to make due with my Ruger full size 1911 until I get mine I guess. While I am sorry your Ruger was bad, twice, my full size has had no issues. It will be replaced as an EDC by a Guardian or V-Bob. Soon I hope.
All the Ruger issues I've heard about have been with the lightweight model. The all steel guns seem to run just fine.

There is no comparison between any of the Rugers and the Dan Wessons, as you would expect in view of the huge price difference between them.

You're in for a treat if you go for any of the models you listed.
A couple of weeks ago, DevilDawg was busy picking my brain in PM about the Guardian & V-Bob. I think he's decided he wants them both.
I am having much trouble saying no to a slightly used Guardian right now, and at $1200 it isn't easy. I am leaning more towards the Guardian due to the reduced weight making it far easier to EDC. Being cheaper is also nice.

Re: Ruger 1911 Commander .45 Problem

We all realize and empathize the pain you are experiencing. I have a couple of Ruger firearms (or did prior to that boating accident), and had to send my mini back 3 times. They finally got it fixed and it is fun shooter again. I agree with the original thought, send it back to Ruger as you paid for a functional pistol. If they can make it right the third time tell them to replace it. Politely, but firmly. You purchased this to be a EDC and right now it isn't capable of range time let alone SD. Keep us posted.
