My best friend has had one since it came out and it's has functioned perfectly with all ammo. However, his front sight did break off. He has not returned it to Ruger yet. It has become a safe queen. I think he's planning on upgrading the sights anyway. He'd still buy it again though.Pawpaw wrote:By all the reports I know of, they are fine pistols.

I've seen some reports of the front sight breaking off, but it doesn't appear to be widespread. If I was in the market for a seventh 1911, I would buy one, probably the commander.
