Tell him DPS is worse than the Army when it comes to "Hurry up and wait".ArmyMama wrote:My son, who is 20 and in the Army, sent in all his paperwork for his CHL toward the end of April. (He had previously done the online application.) He has been away on pre-deployment training for about 5 weeks. Now that he is back in the Lone Star state and has computer access, he checked the status of his CHL today and it says they are waiting to receive his paperwork. He called me today all in a panic because he thinks all his paperwork is lost. I told him to call the number under the contact information on the status page. Should he be worried 5-6 weeks weeks after mailing? How should he proceed? Does it take longer to process a CHL for military personnel?
They got it. It just takes forever for them to acknowledge they got it. Calling won't help. They are gonna check the same system he checks and tell him the same thing.
Thank him for his service for me.
