Were you using a new, non-sig magazine? I had the same problem with my Smith&Wesson after I started using two new magazines. They were actually produced by S&W but the gun is a discontinued model since 1994 (Model 622lr). I sent it in and they adjusted the mags and the mag release. Took about 3 weeks total.

Don't know about Sig though.
