Thank you. I did not bother looking her up. I am glad her age prevents it. That is one less nightmare to think about.Flightmare wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 12:03 amAs scary as the thought of VP AOC would be, October of 2024 is the earliest it could happen as she is only 31 (born October 13, 1989). Even if age were not an issue, I seriously doubt AOC would garner 51 votes in the senate and 218 votes in the house to be confirmed VP for the duration of Harris' term. There are members of her own party who don't like her.

Re: Pray for Joe Biden’s health
I think you all seem to have missed a major flaw in the 25th Amendment that has not escaped Nancy Pelosi. If they use the 25th to get rid of Joe (and while I first thought this was the reason for mentioning so much but I now doubt it), Harris does not become president. If they remove Biden by declaring him not able to execute his office, Harris will execute the powers of ACTING President. This is the interesting part of section 4 of the amendment. It does not take the president out of the office, just removes the ability to use the powers of the office. It even allows for the president to come back into power. That means that there is no vacancy in the VP's office for her to nominate someone too. Logically, that means that if something were to happen to Harris while she was acting president, the speaker of the house would become the new VP and acting president. After all, Biden could not appoint a new VP because it had been decided that he was incompetent to execute his duties and that would be one. And of course, in this scenario, with Pelosi as VP and acting president, if Biden were to pass away, Pelosi would become president.
While I consider this to be a nightmare scenario, it will not come about. Biden has already said what is going to happen, which is why I think no one is going to use the 25th for any reason. At some point in the near future (and I am betting they are hoping for it in late January, 2023), Biden will decide he cannot handle being president any longer for medical reasons. He will then resign. Harris will be sworn in as president and get to appoint a new VP. She will not select Pelosi, but will pick a new younger up-and-comer in the party. This scenario allows for Harris to serve ten years as president (two full terms after taking office with two years remaining) and gives them plenty of time to groom the replacement and train that person in how to be president the way the party wants them to be. If you want a nightmare - one that is both more likely and scarier than Pelosi becoming president - consider this scenario with Vice President Ocasio-Cortez.
Sorry, my call of what I think is the likely plan. The flaw with the plan is that they believe the Democratic Party will retain the power and stay in office and that there will still be a US around that whole time. I think both of these premises are highly unlikely, but I have been wrong about things like this before.
