I was about to ask if there was a law I didn't know about that made it illegal for a felon to own ammo. They might as well mention the cool shoes the guy was wearing, or any other legal items he happened to have with him.
There are laws on convicted felons possessing ammo, but I can't find anything saying he had been convicted, just wanted. He couldn't buy a gun but I think the possession is alright until convicted. I could be wrong on that.
