Biden was correct that the government has nukes and F-15s (well, I don't know how much longer for the F-15 but we all know what he meant). But what he forgets is that the "government" is not a real person, just a legal one. And it takes real people to push the button to fire a missile or drop a bomb.
There is no doubt in my mind that the military has some members that will willingly open fire on US citizens. All it would take is to convince them that the citizens are criminals and a threat to our country. Some would not take much convincing at all, and some would take a little more. This is part of why we are seeing so much about White extremists being the greatest threat. They are laying the groundwork for this claim. But that is the privates and junior ranks. They are primarily kids (18-21) and not as well educated as I would like. There is a slightly different problem with the officers, who are better educated and older. Yes, some will still order the privates to open fire. I think most of them would hesitate, but I could be wrong.
And while I could still be wrong, I would be willing to bet that very few pilots will bomb American citizens and even fewer officers will use nukes on American citizens, no matter what we are doing at the time. I see the military coming out to use force to try to stop the revolution (that is their job after all), but I do not see them going quite that far. And that is without even getting into whether or not Biden has the internal fortitude (the word I was going to use doesn't fit the forum rules) to give the order. Even with AOC and her squad yelling for it, I just don't see them ever giving that order. I don't even see them giving the order against foreign soldiers where we are defending an ally overseas, let alone on US soil.
