Re: The time has come to say goodbye to our beloved Lucy
These days are the high price we all pay to live with dogs. We accept it, because they make it more than worth it. So sorry you're having to go through this time.

Re: Civil Forfeiture
The only one I'd seen specific to Texas was a video where a smirking police chief ( I believe Harris County ) was testifying before some group ( not sure who ). He was asked what the department did with the seized money. He said they buy things on the wish list that would not be approved other wise....

Civil Forfeture
I've been seeing a lot of stories about this lately. Seems it's legal to seize money & property if even the slightest assumption can be made that it could be related to a crime. There is no need for charges to be filed, or an arrest made. Just any lame excuse that the cash you have on your perso...

Re: Good bye old friend
It seems so unfair, their lifespan being so much shorter than ours. But even knowing this horrible day will come, we dog lovers accept it, because we give so much to each other. Just thinking back to some of the best friends I've had to say good-by to over the years, brings tears to my eyes. They re...

Re: Word "Veteran" on TXDL
I'm proud to be a veteran. This wasn't an option the last time I renewed my DL. Adding it was not a problem. Down to DPS with a copy of the DD214 & $11, and it was done. Having that veteran designation on the DL also gets me 10% discount at The Home Depot ( which I appreciate ).

Re: Status of Campus Carry and Parking Lot (in layman's term
As an earlier poster said, now the employer will just find some other reason to terminate you ( the real reason being the firearm, but that would not be the 'stated' reason ). Being a right to work state, would an employer even have to give a reason ? I'm not feeling real proteceted here. Tuckerdog1

Re: Status of Campus Carry and Parking Lot (in layman's term
I understand that Perry has 10 days to sign or veto the bill otherwise it automatically becomes law Above was posted 5/31. So is the parking lot bill a done deal? Carved in stone? On 9/1 I can't get fired for having a firearm in my locked car at work? I'd have thought the media would have mentioned...

Re: SB730 Employer Parking Lot Bill Passes Senate
I know this is a step forward. And I'm glad it looks good for becoming law. But I have a couple questions. Didn't the version last year have a provision where you had to notify your employer if you kept a gun locked in your car? And didn't that kind of set an employee up for being terminated for som...

I have a question about the secured/fenced/guarded parking lot. What is considered guarded? At my employer, there is a camera on the employee gate. Employees swipe their complany ID card to open the gate. Visitors must buzz for assistance. That assistance could come from anybody that happens to be i...
