No offence, but I stopped after:

"Every professional operator..."

Now...Of course if this is something people are thinking about doing to cover some aspect of what they believe is going to be a potential threat to them over their lives...Then you betcha...I'd look into it...

But...

You had better get some close combat training in the use of edge weaponry...Thats going to cost you $$$ and time...And I believe its worth it...If you believe you already know how to do this...A refresher should be fun...

In my opinion (and experience) it is not so much as to "how" you'd operate "offensively" in conditions like this, it is just as important, if not more, to be able to "defend" against it being used on you...

An instructor told me on our first day...

"So you got a knife? Now what do you think you're going to do?"

I learned to not be permanently scarred, mentally, being humiliated by that man...

Just something to think about...

Same here...I'm just finding it hard to think of a way to sharpen mine...It has a striaght edge, but it also has a portion that is wickedly serrated...And still sharp as the dickens...

I dunno...Sometimes I wonder why I even bother to carry a knife...

Loaded statement, I know...But having done so for years, with what I believe to be a perfectly "legal" knife for any purpose...What has it really done for me??? Do I practice with it??? Do I keep it sharp??? etc etc...

Its been that one little thing that has become so second nature to my routine in the morning, cliping it to the hem in my right pocket, that I can see the wear and tear on many a pant I have worn over the years...

So from time to time you kinda go though this little gut check and try to figure out why you do this...

FYI, it has been one of those Cricket M-16 (Tanto tipped) locking blades...That I figure would be illegal in San Antonio for some silly reason...

But thats just what kinda got me off on this tangent anyway...
