In a way this post kinda says more than the applicability of this 30.06 to LEO's or not... ;-)

I still like the Papusa's though...

Since it only makes sense...This is one of those pots that begs to be stirred some more... ;-)

Heck, I'll even call her...Haven't had a lawyer hang up on me today...
What up with everyone in the last couple days...or over the weekend? Everyone pretending like they don't understand English now, as well as following responses. The lady said in her response to a specific question, that MoCity PD are exempt from having to disarm in the restaurant, by LAW. Not according to any slack given by Taco Cabana. TEXAS LAW.!!!
Geeezz.
Well I certainly comprehend English as well as I need to for the last few years...

Maybe its the way she felt compelled to tell Mr. Lawrence in the response something most of us already know, but had to rub noses in it...

Certainly many people can ignore that kind of dig on people like us who are not the problem, but thats ok, I understand why you could dismiss that kind of insulting attitude...

I personally gave up on T.C. and the Katy Mills organization, and many others in this state that rightfully choose to restrict us...I might occasionally go for a Papusa, but thats just a moment of weakness I suppose...

This kind of issue just must bring out the best and worst in people...

Liberty...

I agree with most of what you said there...But...

Being a member of the Chamber of Commerce is not always indicative of you being in lock step with what they promote or support in these matters...

I don't think alot of those businesses on the River Walk give a flip about that parking lot bill...And I don't think that is particularly damning on thier part...Sure, they should pay more attention and participate if you are going to be a part of the Chamber...

Its the politicos in the Chamber looking to get attention, and line their political resume's that drive efforts like this...Most of the time those efforts are hollow, but sometimes even those effort make a dent...

And this time it caught us...But we almost got it this last session...I'm with the crowd that knows it'll be introduced again in 2009...

Venus...I agree...Its a very principled stand to take, and I am not opposed to it at all...

But really...You go to that Lupe Tortilla's on Bay Area Blvd??? ;-)

We need to get together at the Pei Wei (pronounced Pay-Way) place across the street there...I have a hankerin' for lemon pepper chicken from time to time...I would never steer you wrong! ;-)

Just do your part and not eat there because they have the sign, not necessarily because of their food. If your mission is to try and bankrupt TC, then stop spending your $10 inside or at the drive thru. You are just being a hypocrit when you do it. Stop blowing hot air and get these 2 simple stances in motion and let's see how long it will take for them to be financially affected into make a change in policy. Just beating a dead horse and not changing strategies in all these months.
You know what guys...I used to be just like you...I was all full of spite and malice towards a business I used to like patronizing because of the convenience and relative quality of their product...

I do not think I am at all a hypocrite or blowing hot air because I go through their drive thru, thinking I've bucked the system somehow...And the admission is only public because I know there are a heck of a lot more of us in this community that do the same thing, I am just not fearful of any scorn from anyone by admitting this publically...

One thing is absolutely for sure, and it is not a thing I would ever want to see...Taco Cabana and any other business that restricts us is NOT going to change their policy, ever...And until each and every one of those (gun-free zone) businesses have a mass shooting in them, it will never even be brought up for discussion in their mettings till something tragic like that happens...

So...

Like I've said before...This discussion has been going on and off for YEARS...And the conclusion is the more we subtly push their buttons, the harder their hearts become on the issue...And to tell y'all the bitter pill truth...That is their problem, not ours...

So I am not going to let this issue get my bowels in an uproar anymore, unless the food does it to me (and y'all do not want to be in the same county when that happens  )...

We in the CCW community around this country have learned our lesson...We know what the score is...And until these gun-free zone businesses learn the lesson the hard way...Nothing is going to change...

I'll always applaude the efforts (and participate where and when I can) to push back the infringements upon us...But this effort has always been one that has never yielded much, other than get some folks riled up...I used to be that way, but I came to see the light...And those cockroaches scatter like they always do...But they don't ever really go away...

Ohhhh, if you really want to stir it up...Find out who's underwriting the insurance policies for these franchises, and the companies that restrict us by posting 30.06

Those are the ones that need attention like this...

About the only thing I like at TC now is the Chicken Tortilla Soup...

It got me through some rough days this last winter...

You can get that through the drive thru...

This really has been a very well discussed issue over the years, and I am glad it still pops up from time to time...

TC is never going to change its policy, and if I was a betting man, I would side on the idea that this is not so much an "anti" point of view, even though the corporate girl did come off a bit stupid on the whole issue when they were pressed by one of our own to give clarification on the policy...I think this is all corporate insurance policy driven...

I would say its probably time to let this sleeping dog lie, and either never go to one again, or just ignore it all...My life is worth more than a business or a policy that makes it uncomfortable to be in their business and have the means to protect myself...

They want a gun free zone...Fine...Have fun TC...A lot of us wont be there when it might be nice to have one or more of us around...

Where are the righteous ones? Don't act like y'all OVER 21 years old didn't know that posting a sign on someone's property was illegal. Just like posting on light poles, etc in public is ILLEGAL also. Don't come with everyone else do it so I can nonsense either. A few days ago, I said that some would have to be deceitful and lower your moral character since you couldn't get your way, now you are heading down that road.
So whats your point???

You writing like your tired...Go get some sleep...

I'm sure we'll catch what you really mean tomorrow...

When I contacted the state about improperly posted 30.06 the young lady I spoke to told me that they considered the effort to be adequate for enforcement whether the sign met the law or not
Haha, thats incredible. I would have told her "Not according to the law its not"
I did, and she asked me if I wanted to be a test case.

She became very dissatisfied with me when I suggested that by her logic a 40mph posted speed limit was good all the way up to 49mph, since it showed that the driver was "making the effort" to stay in the 40s. Then she hung up on me.
How utterly rude of her to do that to you...

Can I be the next one she hangs up on??? Please???

I bet I can beat your time! I think I can get her to hang up on me in about 4 seconds...

Boy, I'm glad you stepped in here!!! I was getting worried that this thread was getting more about us, and not the business in question, that for years has been pushing the line of restricting us with questionable signage that to us doesn't appear to be compliant with the law, yet their intent is actually pretty clear...

I sometimes have weaknesses for their food from time to time, yet I always get a bit unsettled afterwards...So I don't go as often as I did before they started this policy...

And for some reason (from years of debate and conversation on this particular issue) I believe we kinda thought it might be best to let sleeping dogs lie, and not give them the chance to hear from our small community about their policy and how much it gets our bowels in an uproar...Pardon the pun...

But whats done is done...And they now have renewed attention given to their corporate policy...I believe the coorespondence to the corporate mouthpieces has been very well thought out, presented and mature in its intent...Obviously, they'll continue their policy, and it'll be up to us to either accept it or move on...

I just hope they never make available on their menu again the Chicken Papusa's with the chipotle pineapple salsa ever again...Like I said, I have weaknesses...
