Just my opinion...I think CPS is a case study in why government agencies can and do go bad. I'm sure that if you followed a CPS case worker for a week, you would be appalled and sickened by some of the things that they have to deal with. I'll go out on a limb and say that the majority of cases that they touch are probably handled correctly.
I guess it is more socially dangerous for a kid handling a gun (responsibly/safely), than it is to have a toddler getting stoned out of their mind...Both under parental supervision...
