Not long ago, when I too was a "bored yute"...

I don't recall the guys and gals I hung out with doing anything this stupid...But if we did do something stupid, it really wasn't anything that effected anyone else...

I guess times have changed, and the bored yute of today seem to just not be as intelligent, even with improving tests scores... ;-)

I do like the ideas about "armoring up" your mailboxes though...Very clever stuff!

FWIW, it's the heavy-duty (Tuff Box was the name, IIRC) 20+lb box that Home Depot carries for ~$65. Money well spent, since we don't use the flag much anyway, and they probably offer replacements cheap.
Dirn, this has been going on for a while...

Are they just getting yours, or does it appear the "bored" kids are running around tagging others in your area???

Hope you got a statement (report) getting filed soon with your local law enforcement...

I think you should make a visit to the newspaper folks...Heck, anything they can do to fill up space should be welcome...

My grandfather and I (teenager) were running around the property many years ago, and part of our property line runs along a right of way county road...We came up on a huge spread out pile of trash that had been thrown on and off the fenceline...

We went back to pick up the trailer and go load up all the trash and take it to our "burn gully"...

I was picking through part of it and found several envelopes with the same address on them, with a penciled in remark that said "trash"...

Bingo...

My Grandfather and I drove straight into Quitman, to the sheriff's office and shown them the stuff...It all worked out in the end, and in the paper a few days later was the "crime report"...

The only thing in there was our "Illegal Dumping" claim with the report that the perpetrator was fined the maximum fee, and jailed for other outstanding offenses...

So yes, in small town I believe you should have provisions for reporting crimes of this nature, no matter how trivial...
