I'm really leaning strongly towards the 4" Kimber. $700 and looks to bee a really nice pistol.

Haven't yet. Maybe I should give her a spin on one and see what she thinks. She isn't afraid of recoil, as she shoots my sportsman weight 30-06 and hangs in there with me at the range. Just that she shoots the lighter caliber rifles longer and enjoys them more. Heck, the same goes for me.

There's also the ammunition cost difference between .45 and 9mm. 9mm is pretty darned cheap.

Looks like I am going to be in the $780 and up price range for something I am looking for.

I am really liking the looks of the Springfields at this point.

So, what are the choices out there in 1911 frame 9mm? I have seen the EMP, but want something a little larger framed, and easier on the check book.

My choice for 9mm stems from a couple of places. My PX4 is chambered in 9mm and I would like to keep the cartridges the same. Second, my 15 y.o. daughter shoots with me, and I would like to keep the felt recoil down for her.
