Re: Doing the Speed Limit and Being Abused For It!

It might sound cliche, but "What would Jesus do?" If you imagine Jesus driving your car, would he allow the other guy to pass? Now, if the other guy practiced the same exercise he certainly wouldn't act like that - but we can only control one person in this life. I'm not saying its some so...

Re: Dallas Chief Fires 4 Officers and a 911 Operator

Wow, those all sound like officers who should not be police officers. The police officer saying that "officers may react a bit slower at the next incident, which would, of course, put other officers and private citizens at risk for fear of breaking some new wiggly policy that no one can deciphe...

Re: The Real Wendy Davis

PLEASE take this into account. Kathy Glass, the libertarian candidate, may be a worthy person, but she has no chance of winning. None at all. The only thing she will do is take votes away from Abbot. Right now, she's not really registering in the polls, although she was showing 5% back in late Octo...

Re: Interested in LEO opinions on this......

Wow. I'm not a cop, but I like that guy!

Personally, I think the rights and safety of the citizens trumps the safety of police officers. I believe strongly in officer safety but I believe even stronger in citizen rights.

California elementary school student pulls trigger on police rifle, 3 kids hurt by shrapnel The AR-15 was locked to the side of the motorcycle that was on display at Newman Elementary School http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/10/24/s-california-elementary-s...

Re: Interesting situation

Whether you would have gotten involved if you didn't have a gun is a VERY important question. The fact that you had a gun should not have been part of your decision here. I am frequently amazed by how folks take a completely average situation and in their heads it becomes something larger - simply b...

Re: Citizens' academy

I have also taken a couple of citizen academies and they were different. The first one I took, with the Sheriffs office, was located in the admin area of their main building - which is also where the jail is located. During the opening comments of the first class the deputy in charge said "Whil...

Re: Enemy combatants

I am amazed at how strongly we all argue for strict adherence to one portion of the constitution but we are willing to ignore it completely for someone we disagree with.

Don't be so quick to throw out the constitution.

Sorry to say, but the idea that the DHS is purchasing these high dollar vehicles for Border Patrol and ICE just makes me cringe.[massive pruning to save space]...and none of them felt like they had gotten a big bargain at that price. Given all that, I really question the need for purchasing $100,00...

Google search does not touch or produce search result of anything "firearms or ammo" That is censorship in the land of the Free. Bing to the rescue. Well, wouldn't they (as a private company) be exercising some of that freedom if they did refuse to do some searches that they disagreed wit...

Re: So...I might have gotten a little carried away respondin

Actually, a politician is not elected to listen to the whims of their constituents and do that which is "popular" they are put there by a popular vote to cast their votes as they see fit. It is a republic, we elect representatives. Not a democracy where the desires of the masses make a dif...

Re: If someone is going to join the military what branch and

Start this off by saying I was in the Marines, so I am a little biased. That being said....are you married. The Marines and Navy have very few overseas assignments that allow the spouse to go along. The Air Force is a gentlemans service...good bases, good barracks/housing, etc. The Marines have nic...

Re: Obama May Change His Mind On Assault Weapons Ban

Here's an actual case: The specific benefit is called the “Aid and Assistance/Housebound” and is meant for veterans so disabled that they cannot take care of themselves at all. It allows a small stipend to help a designated caretaker provide for the severely-disabled vet. Sgt. Wayne Irelan of Arkan...
