Re: Houston Rodeo BBQ No Carry Allowed?
They may be waiting until the actual rodeo starts to post 30.06. Most people attend the entire event with tickets that allow you into the rodeo/concert as well as the fair and livestock show. So the 30.06 would be an unenforceable reminder that concealed carry at a professional sporting event is prohibited. I suppose that if you buy tickets for only the fair and livestock show then asking for the on duty LEO in charge and showing your chl would be in order.

Probably best to ask to speak to the on duty LEO in charge before going through the metal detector. Show your chl, inform that you're armed and ask how they'd like to proceed. As I stated before, NRG park and stadium are publicly owned & operated. So they cannot prohibit concealed carry into the cook off itself.

Re: Houston Rodeo BBQ No Carry Allowed?
30.06 wouldn't be enforceable as NRG park & stadium are county-owned & operated. At best, I'd say that 51% could apply to individual vendors but not to the entire event.jimlongley wrote:Was there any 51% or 30.06 notification?PaJ wrote:I was there last night. When entering the carnival area to get to the cookoff, everyone had to go through a metal detector. When I emptied my pockets, I had a small pocket knife and a larger knife. They didn't recognize the larger one as a knife, but made me throw the small one away or return it to my car but that was too far for the value of the knife. I wasn't carrying my gun because I planned to have a few adult beverages.
So, I guess its safe to say that you should leave the gun in the car.
