You should also check your employee handbook. If there is a 'no weapons' or 'no firearms' policy, you could be fired for carrying on the job. But whatever you do DO NOT ASK your HR department about any of this!!!! If you've looke through the entire policy and can't find it, then it's not there. Asking HR about it would tip them that they've overlooked something and then they'll add it (if they have misgivings about having concealed weapons onsite).

There are many of us on this forum that hold CHLs but are not allowed to carry at work. It's way less than ideal, but that fact has not deterred us. If you can qualify for it, go ahead and get your CHL regardless of the work policy.
