Most bigger city police chief's are politicians first and peace officers second. They were, in some cases, ones who couldn't function well on the street, were never on the street, or forgot what it was like to be on the street. They say and do whatever is politically correct and most are very liberal in viewpoint to get where they are. I could care less what the Police Chief of Austin Texas or most other big cities think about me or my opinions. A good example is to compare the National Sheriff's Association to the average members of the Texas Sheriff's Association. The National group is far more liberal and their deputies are usually the ones standing behind this administration as window dressing for their next grab at our rights. I was a peace officer in Texas for 35+ years and hold a Master Peace Officer certification. Their opinion is no better than mine.
