These receipts crimes are rampant in the South. There are crime rings that run from California to Louisiana hitting every store they see. They can print directly from a laptop INSIDE their car. I've done LP work for several retailers and I kid you not, an estimated average of $45,000+ in losses bi-annually IN EACH INDIVIDUAL STORE. :banghead:

Just 1/3 of the money lost in these scams could be used for an off-duty armed cop for 8 hrs during high-traffic times, but only Best Buy has seemed to figure that out. Armed cops teamed with active LP officers significantly reduces these losses. Cops can pursue and have less chance of being sued when making an arrest. Also, cops have radios to spread the word when the criminals speed off in their vehicle with temp tags.
