When it comes to checking ID/Phone #'s/Zip Codes, I estimate 90% of the time I am met with "deer in headlights" look by cashiers and I complete my transaction without any further chitchat. The other 10% of the time, retailers will insist on checking ID and I tell them no. They will not process the transaction so I either pay with cash or I leave for their competitor. It has potential to be inconvenient, but I am sick and tired of trying to prove I am a good guy.
If I am ever "exposed," you said it best... don't argue with fools. Simply ignore them and carry about.
Examples:
THEM: May I have your zip code? ME: No, you may not.
THEM: May I see you Drivers License? ME: No, you may not. THEM: Why not? ME: My Drivers License is none of your business. THEM:
