Re: My new Andrews Custom Leathers setup
Nice looking outfit! I've always heard great things about Andrews. One question on the ride height- did you specify it? From the pics, it appears to be a very high riding holster. Thanks! I love it. It does ride a little higher than my IWB setup. Probably 1.5". It is one of the reasons that I ...

My new Andrews Custom Leathers setup
I have used Andrews before, several years ago, to make a CCW holster and mag carrier when I was carrying my Beretta 92. I ordered a Hybrid Saddle Style holster and a double mag carrier, both dyed in black. They are awesome. In fact, even after wearing them everyday, everywhere for years, they are st...

A good article on dressing to conceal
For those new to concealed carry, and for those not so new to it, this is a good article. (IMO). http://artofmanliness.com/2012/09/26/guide-to-concealed-carry/?fb_action_ids=4634141820522%2C4632781026503&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map=" onclick=...

Re: New iPhone?
This morning, updated my iTunes, downloaded all the apps to the computer, backed up the iPhone to iCloud and to the computer directly, then reinstalled iOS6 and did a Restore to Factory Settings. About 4 hours later, the phone was fully restored and charged. I took it off the charger at 2pm...it is...

Re: Question about Long Range toy
I love my Rem 7005R. It will ring 10" plates at 1000 all day long. (Sometimes, it will even do it with me shooting it). http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d180/thumper_6119/Chloe2.jpg I like the .308 round for that distance and below. Were I inclined to start shooting at ranges longer than...

Re: New iPhone?
I got iOS 6 on Wednesday and my phone is so screwed up! I give it a full charge and for the next 2 hours, it is hot (110 degrees) for the next two hours. The battery runs down to about 40 percent during that time. Then it miraculously cools off, and will run for another 24 hours on the charge. With...

Re: My first carry in public
Before long, it will seem completely awkward (uncomfortable) to not have your CCW on you. Mine goes on before I even put on my shoes.

Re: Raven Concealment Systems
Ah, I see where you stated in your OP that it was the light carrier. My bad. Still, they need to resolve the fit with the light carrier, and it sounds like they are willing to do so, but I wouldn't like having send my light to them to make that happen. Seems they should have a model of that light on...

Re: Raven Concealment Systems
RCS has received a LOT of endorsement from some "big names" using their holsters. One reason for the massive backlog and extended wait times to get some of their products. 16-18 weeks is what they say on their website, and my first order from them took every bit of 16 weeks. I ordered a Ph...

I love my Beltman belts. I have one that I've worn every day for almost 7 years now, and it's still in great shape.

Re: IWB recommendation?
A Crossbreed or a Comp-Tac would be my recommendation. I have a Comp-Tac holster for my carry gun, and a Crossbreed double mag carrier. No part of the gun (or mags) ever touches me. Incredibly comfortable, and they are tuckable. To give you an idea of the comfort, I wear a carry a full size 1911 eve...

Re: Cleaning & Lubrication Supplies
For most of my handguns and my AR's, I use RemOil and Remington Bore Solvent (if it is even needed). But for my Desert Eagle and my precision bolt gun, I use the Tetra line of products. Tetra Lube and Tetra Grease. The Grease is especially nice for the bolt gun action and the action on the Desert Ea...

Our first couple of attempts at cooking in DIY solar ovens. When we tested them, we got one up to 320F, and the other to 350F. Tried some bran muffins in one. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d180/thumper_6119/New%20Run/photo.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d180/thumper_6119/New%20Run/photo2....
